"Authors H.J. Wisocki and C.J. Szajnecki have written a book that is so riveting, spellbinding, it’ll take your breath away and at the same time will shock you. You won’t be able to put this book down for a moment. This story could be about any clergy in any church and how they get away with abuse and abuse of their powers. The Pastor Bill Roberts is one of the most deceitful, cunning and charming devilish persons I’ve come across in a long time. This book is very well written and brings forth a story that will chill your blood and make you question your religious leader’s motives and his ways of teaching and preaching. I will not give away the ending of this book, I do know everyone should be aware of a devil in preachers disguise. I give authors Wisocki and Szajnecki five stars ***** for a great book well written."

In Helen Wisocki and Curt Szajnecki ’s blockbuster book, “ Innocence Betrayed - A Dad's Story of Clergy Misconduct", they deftly illustrate what any family can suffer at the hands of a less than scrupulous spiritual figurehead. When Dee and Jim welcomed their new pastor to their church, little did they realize the devilishly evil heart he hid under his robes. When this man tries to move in on Jim ’s family, he is suspicious, but being a good Christian, he tries to overlook certain things, and is glad his wife is finding fulfillment in doing church work. He does not expect this ‘man of God’ to go against the church’s code of misconduct and the Ten Commandments so blatantly.
As you read, you will become part of this family while they are torn apart and enter a realm of chaos. Family units are supposed to be held together by the churches they attend and the counseling they afford. In this shocking case, the opposite was true. If you have wondered why even the most infamous incidents involving churches where a minister, pastor or priest who perpetrate evil deeds disappear from the news after once being reported, this book will offer some explanation. You will also see, like our own federal government, church governments can be just as shady and conduct cover ups of the misconduct of their trusted members and employees.
This is not a new phenomenon, and seems to occur in most religions. I am certain many cases are never reported and do not make the media unless there is murder, molestation or rape involved. While most churches are safe places and the majority of clergymen are honest, this book may change your view of organized religion forever, and make you question the actions of clergymen everywhere regardless of denomination. Prepare yourself to be alarmed and become very suspicious of any actions by clergy.
I consider this book an important 5 star book, especially for parents everywhere to read.

MORE TRUTH THAN FICTION! 5 Stars!
A salutary tale of the deceptions and deceit inherent in many religious pathways, where the total and absolute abuse of the trust placed in religious and spritual leaders is so amply chronicled in Curt and Helen's book. It is a masterpiece of storytelling of what not only can and does happen on a daily basis, but, they bring it to life in an all too real, terrifying scenario. This should be required reading!

If you think your family is close and your faith is strong, watch out! These good things can be used against you by someone who is an expert at manipulation.
Your book was a real warning to parents and family members to stay in the know of what their family is doing no matter what organizations or church group to which they belong. Evil manipulators are everywhere turning God given talents and leading do-gooders onto paths they never would have dreamed of taking. In this case, it was a loving mother wishing to please the Lord who was lead away into Evil’s path. The more self–sacrificing she was to help others in the church, the more she was clutched away from her family and driven into feelings and actions she would have never thought possible. It seems throughout the book, the daughter’s childlike eyes were open to right and wrong. If it weren’t for their devoted father, who suffered amazing loss, those girls wouldn’t have had a chance at escaping a very possible future of molestation and heartbreak. Thank God for strong fathers, and thank God for people who believe their experiences and support their fight against these transgressors. It’s not only children, but their parents as well who need to be prayed for and protected. We must remember it is in God we should have faith and trust, men are fallible and should be questioned. This book reminds us to keep the channels of prayer and actions open and strong between us and our Maker. Pleasing others is secondary.
Upon my talking about this book to a Methodist minister, and his reading the book, he heatedly said that if this book was based on a true experience, he was appalled. He couldn’t believe this behavior was allowed to continue in the church and that the slimy monster was allowed to continue as a representative of the faith.
Thank you for writing this book.

A couple of weeks ago, I finished reading "Innocence Betrayed" and was stunned to discover such incidents could take place in a religious institution. Although this is a fictitious story written by a first-time author, the lessons to be learned are crucial. Evil lurks in all places, even in places thought to be blessed sanctuaries.
No one is safe from manipulation by demons, even men and women of religious ministries. It has awakened the reader to the possibility that,if evil is allowed to overpower or tempt, anyone,--even religious ministers-- is open to be corrupt. The minister portrayed in this fictional story is manipulative, uncompassionate to the family, and obviously selfish to his own desires.
The story was enlightening in showing people the way to be aware of clergy misconduct. It points out that women who have difficulty with assertiveness and who have a kind heart, like Dee, are targets for predators. Unfortunately, Dee was unaware and tried to please too many people and her own needs at the same time. I kept thinking to myself that I wished she would have kept her focus always on the 4 daughters who wanted their mother so desperately and who saw her slipping away.
A major lesson to be learned is the importance of making a conscious effort to focus on the importance of family first. They are worth protecting and loving. Through the entire devastation of the harmful emotional disruptions this family endured, the constant love and concern shown by the father was what will be remembered by the daughters. If such a nightmare of events as written in the book were to actually occur, the only thing that would save a family as described in Innocence Betrayed is forgiveness and love.

Wow, great book had a hard time putting it down. Just finished it last night. Everyone should read it. I have know Curt for a long time and witnessed some of this but the book has put everything together. I cannot believe that the devil in the Lord's clothing was able to do what he did to this innocent family. Why did the church not help? Keep up the great work.

"Innocence Betrayed - A Dad's Story of Clergy Misconduct" is a powerful story of both truth and heartache that one finds through the power of manipulation at the hands of Church officials. Most anyone in authority today uses their power to pursued others to believe as they do. Jim's story isn't any different. His wife soon finds herself under the spell of what she believed was an honest man, who ministered out of faith to a congregation that sought out hope and freedom. But it wasn't long before that very man used his authority to abuse others inside the Church.
Helen Wisocki and Curt Szajnecki's story flows brilliantly unlocking the tale of one man's journey to find that freedom and bring it back home where it belongs. He fights for truth, for hope, and for the family that was left behind after such a chaotic mess that seemed to lingered on.
There was no room for rest, Jim had to fight to protect his family from insanity, their hope was crushed, their life was altered, but Jim remained steadfast. He took every course possible to awake the Church Officials to truth, only to be met with Church cover up.
Freedom belongs to every man and woman, and this story reveals just how quickly it can be stolen. Through Jim's fight to keep hope alive, ministering as the head of his household, offering up truth through his pain, he managed to witness that very freedom to others.
This is a priority read for those who are seeking a Church home and for those that have been worshiping as "One Body" in a Church home for many years. You can find the freedom that Jesus left behind while learning how to protect yourself and your loved ones through the powerful pages of this book. I highly recommend it and give it five stars.

'Kate', a fellow survivor
The contents of this book amazed me, because they are so similar to my own story. Having been in the place of hurt that the characters found themselves, I was able to really relate to this writing. I connected with the grooming, the manipulation, the Church cover-up, and the painful aftermath that something like this can bring. The story shows just how easily something like this can happen, and is a help to those it's happened to, in seeing that they are not alone. Heartbreaking truth...and great writing. So glad to see a voice being given to such a painful topic! 5-stars *****
